History of the Honcho Visor
In 2022 the wife and I visited Sand Hollow and saw a really cool Jeep Gladiator. We knew we wanted one, but we really wanted to make it different. I had always liked the old Jeep Honcho trim of the late 70’s. so I decided to build my modern take on a Jeep Honcho. One of the cool features of an old Gladiator is that the roof of the truck had a visor that gave it a more aggressive look. Sure it offered some practical features but lets be honest it was all about the looks. Well, I looked around and couldn’t find anyone that made one for the Gladiator, so I made my own. I was surprised when people started saying they wanted one. The wife said to me “Andy, you need to get these made.” I agreed but I had two main sticking points. One, it needed to be made of high quality fiberglass to avoid warping in the sun. Two, it needed to be American made. So here we are today, I managed to get them done.
